Description

At Templeton Properties, we believe property management is about more than maintaining buildings—it’s about creating safe, welcoming communities where residents feel at home. With a growing residential portfolio across Halifax and new developments underway, we’re looking for an Experienced Property Manager to join our team and play a key leadership role in shaping both operations and tenant experience.
This is not just a day-to-day administrative role—it’s an opportunity to run your portfolio like a business, taking ownership of financial performance, staff leadership, capital planning, and tenant satisfaction. Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President, the Property Manager will be entrusted with significant responsibility, influence, and the ability to make a real impact.

Why Join Templeton?

  • Be part of a family-owned, growth-focused company with a reputation for quality and care.
  • Take ownership of a large, diverse portfolio and run it like your own business.
  • Work directly with senior leadership and help shape company decisions.
  • Grow your career in a supportive, high-performance culture where your contributions matter.

About the Role
You will independently manage a large portfolio of 400–800 residential units across multiple properties, leading staff, optimizing financial performance, and ensuring an exceptional tenant experience. This is a hands-on role for a strong leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to contribute to a company with a long-term vision for growth and community impact.
Key Responsibilities

MAINTENANCE & CAPITAL PROJECTS

  • Coordinate large repairs and renovations in partnership with the capital projects team.
  • Oversee timely unit turnarounds to support leasing activity.
  • Monitor building systems and manage preventative maintenance programs.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5–10 years of residential property management experience (multi-site preferred).
  • Proven ability to independently manage large rental portfolios.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and P&L responsibility.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Halifax and Nova Scotia real estate market.
  • Skilled at supervising staff and resolving complex tenant issues.
  • Knowledge of Nova Scotia tenancy law and building operations.
  • Tech-savvy, with property management software experience (Buildium, Yardi, or similar).

What Success Looks Like

  • 99%+ occupancy and strong financial performance across your portfolio.
  • Proactive issue resolution, without escalations to senior leadership.
  • A motivated, accountable, and reliable staff team.
  • Properties that are clean, safe, and aligned with Templeton’s market standards.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary with performance-based bonuses.
  • Comprehensive group benefits package (health and dental insurance).
  • Paid vacation and free parking.
  • The opportunity to join a growing company where you will have both responsibility and influence.
  • A supportive, entrepreneurial culture that values results, collaboration, and long-term growth.

This is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact at Templeton Properties, managing a diverse portfolio and helping shape the future of residential living in Halifax.
