JOB DESCRIPTION

The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting products at all stages of the production process – including raw materials, first-piece, in-process, and final inspection. This role involves using a variety of precision measurement tools and techniques, including visual, dimensional, and computerized methods. The inspector is also responsible for maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with ISO 9001 standards.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality inspection, preferably in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
  • Proficient in interpreting engineering documentation, including blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications
  • Deep understanding of quality control principles, inspection methodology, and analytical thinking
  • Ability to work independently while also collaboratively with different leadership and departments
  • Proficient in accurate usage of inspection tools and equipment (calipers, micrometers, and tape measures)
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced, production-driven environment, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement

Responsibilities
  • Performs inspections on raw materials, first-piece samples, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Identifies visual defects and measures critical dimensions using GD&T principles and specifications
  • Interprets technical drawings and blueprints, including understanding drafting symbols, tolerances, and features.
  • Detects, documents, and contains non-conformances, initiates NCRs, and communicates quality issues to the Quality Director and production teams
  • Utilizes precision measurement tools and equipment such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and portable CMMs; includes operation and basic programming of CMM equipment.
  • Creates and maintains detailed inspection records, including First Article Inspection (FAI) reports and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation
  • Collaborates closely with machine operators, fabricators, and management to resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement
  • Reports directly to the Quality Director and supports departmental and organizational quality objectives.
