Description

As part of the In Situ Recovery team, this position is responsible for the development of oil recovery processes from reservoirs and for underground CO2 storage addressing the needs of InnoTech’s industrial clients. The position encompasses investigating in situ recovery mechanisms, fluid and rock characterization, determining fluid flow in porous media; chemical analysis, data interpretation, communication of experimental results and collaboration and interaction with colleagues, clients, and external experts primarily in oil and gas recovery.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Postgraduate PhD degree in Physics, Physical Chemistry, Petroleum Engineering, or Chemical Engineering will be preferred
  • Industrial experience may be substituted for postgraduate certification
  • Knowledge and experience with Alberta’s energy sector. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, PVT software, and reservoir simulator

  • Basic understanding of contract elements and process
  • Flexible to work and conduct research independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary collaborative team
  • Be willing to conduct field work
  • Valid driver’s license
