Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

The role of Rostering Coordinator is the heartbeat of our organisation. We are seeking an experienced scheduler/roster coordinator, accustomed to leading a team. Someone who is generously spirited, with a proven record working with a rapidly growing organisation.
This role is office based.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Roster Creation and Maintenance: Use our rostering software to create and maintain staff rosters, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, award agreements, and service needs.
  • Shift Allocation: Manage staff availability, preferences, and qualifications when allocating shifts.
  • Staffing Solutions: Proactively address staffing gaps and shortages to ensure continuity of care.
  • Data Analysis: Monitor and analyse rostering data to identify areas for improvement and optimise efficiency.
  • Communication: Liaise with Management, Service Delivery Leads, Team Leaders, and staff to address rostering concerns and feedback.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all rostering activities.
  • Legislation Awareness: Stay informed of changes in legislation and award agreements impacting rostering practices.
  • Onboarding: Collaborate with HR to onboard new employees into the rostering system.
  • Efficiency Recommendations: Analyse data related to rostering efficiency and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to teams on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Work Environment: Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.

ROLE ESSENTIALS:

  • Competency in Visual Care
  • Thorough understanding of the SCHADS award
  • Minimum of 2 years concurrent rostering experience in disability/aged care
  • Good knowledge of Brisbane suburbs
  • Unfazed by unforeseen changes due to illness, conflicts, changes in rosters -with the ability to ‘foresee’ and build contingency capacity into the master roster.
  • Excellent time management skills – responding to service requests, participant and internal enquiries
  • Participate in on-call after hours roster
  • High levels of data entry accuracy & attention to detail
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills inc. Excel & google sheets
  • Ability to sustain focus on detailed work and maintain information systems accurately.
  • Current First Aid & CPR certificate
  • Full Australian working rights
  • Possess NDIS Worker screening card & WWCC card
