Job Details Job Location: San Antonio Food Bank - Main Building - San Antonio, TX 78227 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: High School or GED Equivalent Salary Range: $19.00 - $19.00 Hourly Job Category: Transportation General Description: This position is responsible for picking up and securing all food and grocery item donations. The employee is responsible for the distribution of food and grocery items to agencies in the 29 county service areas. Essential Functions: Pick up food from local donors as scheduled. Unload donated products to on-site feeding facilities. Provide initial donation receipt with proper signatures to donors and recipients. Weigh, classify and warehouse donated products according to acceptable warehousing practices. Provide backup donation receipt daily to Transportation Coordinator for data entry and provides mileage logs, vehicle inspection logs. Clean and audit vehicle as required. Ensure maintenance of vehicles is accomplished as necessary. Keep current driver license, food handler certification, material handling equipment license or certification and any other permit/license required to perform duties. Act as an ambassador of the San Antonio Food Bank when conducting business with donors, potential donors, partner agencies, donation recipients, volunteers, etc. Act and perform in a safe manner. Accept additional duties as assigned. Work schedule – Rotating Applicants are required to submit to a drug test as part of the hiring process. Qualifications Qualifications: High School degree or equivalent CDL Class B Willing to work Saturday and some special events when assigned. Forklift/pallet jack trained. Attention to detail, accuracy and the meeting of deadlines. Possession of a current Texas driver's license, clean driving record and current vehicle insurance. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects with hand and arms; talk and hear. Able to lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close, distance, color and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment This job is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments and frequently will require one to drive to different locations with varying conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
