JOB OVERVIEW

Home Improvement sales experience a Must; Landscape Industry experience a plus.
Black Diamond Paver Stones & Landscape, Inc. is looking for an experienced senior Sales Professional who is motivated, efficient, and highly effective to be our Sales Director. They must have Home Improvement and Direct Sales experience, including at least 10 years directing other managers. They will be managing our Sales Management Team, as well as our South Bay Sales team. This successful candidate will strategically and tactically manage the overall company team sales operations. They will be expected to consistently meet or exceed sales objectives/goals/budgets while maintaining the company’s designated closing percentage and sales profits. Responsibilities include daily hands-on management of our Sales Managers, handling client relationships, and management/development of our headquarters’ South Bay Team of salespeople (Project Design Specialists). The right candidate for our team will use their proven sales management strategies and in-depth knowledge of sales processes to provide innovative ideas for business growth, driving the company’s top-line sales strategies while achieving budgets and providing long-term profitability.
This position is based out of our San Jose headquarters with no telecommuting or a hybrid thereof. We will not pay for relocation costs. This is an in-office position, except when working in the field with Sales Managers, Salespeople, or doing sales calls.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or similar field; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a sales management position, preferably as a Sales Director or National Sales Manager
  • In-Home home improvement sales background
  • Proficient in MS Office, Excel, and Google Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional time management and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of market trends and behaviors
  • Experience managing an effective, high-performance sales team
  • Knowledge of CRM software and other sales management software
  • Ability to understand and analyze sales performance metrics
  • Strong team management skills and excellent negotiation skills
  • Availability to travel to our other territories as needed, though not a regular occurrence

Responsibilities

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Develop and implement effective sales and sales management strategies
  • Create, review, and analyze sales reports and forecasts
  • Lead Sales Managers company-wide to achieve sales targets
  • Maintain, enhance, and participate in Black Diamond’s sales training programs for new and existing Project Design Specialists
  • Monitor sales performance and hold team(s) and their sales people accountable for results
  • Analyze market trends and behaviors
  • Maintain healthy working relationships with clients
  • Establish productive and professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts
  • Aid in the negotiation and help close agreements with large customers
  • Evaluate performance metrics and suggest improvements for the Sales Managers and their people as needed.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts
  • Perform research and identify new potential market opportunities
  • Provide timely and effective solutions aligned with clients’ needs
  • Liaise with the Marketing department to ensure brand consistency
  • Stay up-to-date with new product launches and ensure sales team members are on board

SALES DIRECTORS COMPLETE A VARIETY OF OTHER LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES, INCLUDING:

  • Use market data, statistics, and trends to establish sales goals
  • Review marketing inadequacies and adjust plans
  • Manage sales budgets
  • Motivate, recognize, and reward top sales producers
  • Prepare timely sales forecasts and reports
  • Track and analyze sales data to find strengths and weaknesses
  • Develop and implement sales procedures and policies
  • Approve large client contracts
  • Recruit, hire, and train new Project Design Specialists
  • Network with potential business partners and clients
  • Create presentations for meetings, business partners, corporate executives, and shareholders
