QUALIFICATIONS/MUST-HAVES:

  • Completion of grade 12 diploma or equivalent;
  • Prior work experience in a customer service environment is a definite asset;
  • 2-4 years of security related experience;
  • First Aid and CPR training is required (Must be WSIB Approved);
  • Provincial security license; and
  • Provincial certification required for Use of Force (upon hire training will be provided);
  • Valid Class G driver’s license is required (with a clear drivers abstract);
  • WHMIS and JHSC training an asset;
  • Education in Police Foundations, Criminal Justice is an asset;
  • Use of Force Training an assest.

TECHNICAL & INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

  • Basic computer (keyboarding) skills are required;
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, provincial and municipal legislation and regulations required;
  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent discretion and overall decision-making skills;
  • Tact and diplomacy in dealings with a range of settings and situations;
  • Ability to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment;
  • Flexible and adaptable in dealing with diverse situations and people; and

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Security Guard, you will play a key role in representing our brand and client values by delivering exceptional customer service to tenants, guests, customers, and employees. You will actively seek out opportunities to assist and support those around you, creating a visible and reassuring presence.
Your responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols, overseeing designated posts, and ensuring that property rules and standards are maintained. By doing so, you will help deter crime and unwanted activities while fostering a safe, welcoming environment for all. Through your professionalism and attention to detail, you will instill customer confidence and contribute to a secure and positive atmosphere.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

  • Be proactive in helping everyone have an outstanding customer experience at the Property;
  • Perform highly visible patrols of assigned patrol areas/zones and positively engage with tenants, guests, visitors and employees on an ongoing basis;
  • Protect the Property and maintain a safe and welcoming environment;
  • Enforce the rules and regulations at the Property in a fair and responsible manner;
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide First Aid, CPR or AED support as necessary until medical professionals arrive;
  • Remain prepared to respond to crime, disturbances and emergency situations as per training
  • Stand and walk for a longer period.
