722 World Bier Haus, is seeking a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to work collaboratively with our Executive Chef in leading our culinary team and actively overseeing various kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

Kitchen Operations

  • Execute daily operations to ensure food is prepared quickly and to quality standards.
  • Monitor prep and line operations to reduce delays and maximize throughput during peak hours.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.

Team Leadership & Training

  • Assist with training and supervise all kitchen staff including line cooks, prep cooks and dishwashers.
  • Have an understanding of optimal scheduling, with the expectation of managing labour costs according to projected revenues and budgets.
  • Foster a positive and disciplined kitchen culture with strong communication and collaboration.

Purchasing & Cost Control

  • Monitor inventory levels and order accordingly while adhering to purchasing budgets.
  • Manage food cost percentages and minimize spoilage.
  • Conduct quality audits on all deliveries of incoming product.

Administrative & Strategic Responsibilities

  • Maintain kitchen records, including food safety logs, waste tracking, prep and par charts, and purchasing journals.
  • Work with your Executive Chef to align daily kitchen performance with short and long term business goals.

Qualification Requirements

  • 2+ Years’ experience in a Sous Chef role is required
  • Knowledge of industry best practices
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation methods, and kitchen management
  • Practiced leadership skills in a hospitality environment
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, control, and composure in difficult and stressful situations
  • Experience handling employee issues, concerns, and conflicts
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift 50lbs
  • Comfortable using Google (G Suite) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid Food Safety Certification

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $47,500.00-$55,000.00 per year
