The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking an Experienced Supplier Manufacturing Technology Analyst located in Dallas, TX.
This position provides Manufacturing Technology analysis and Lean deployment functional excellence within Boeing’s supply chain by rapidly analyzing, designing, and implementing sustainable production system improvements.
Manufacturing Technology Analysts lead engagements aimed at supporting on-time delivery, quality improvements, and cost initiatives.
Each team member works in close collaboration with Boeing stakeholders and supplier leadership to plan and implement improvement projects and train suppliers on a rapid process improvement framework. Projects range across the Enterprise including BCA, BDS, and BGS engagements in collaboration with GFO and Supply Chain Operation teams.

Statement of work includes supplier recovery, sourcing and work transfers, supplier health and readiness, affordability, replanning, rate readiness, interrogation of the engineering, and functional excellence. Five traits required for this team:

  • Humility – able to collaborate with suppliers in the spirit of learning and humility.
  • Grit & tenacity – Manufacturing Tech Analysts are never sent to an easy supplier engagement. The Manufacturing Tech Analyst must be prepared to work through difficult working situations.
  • Problem solving skills – commensurate with work, Manufacturing Tech Analysts must be able to break down complex problems into mutually exclusive, collectively exhaustive (MECE) work structures
  • Influencing skills – 30% of Manufacturing Tech Analyst work is technical. The remaining 70% is convincing others that the technical solutions are correct. Manufacturing Tech Analysts must have skills to influence leaders and workers alike
  • Good teaming skills – Manufacturing Tech Analysts collaborate together and sometimes team up at difficult engagements. Team relationship is very important for a cohesive working environment

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor’s and 6 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. a Masters and 4 years of work experience or 10 years of work experience).
  • 5 years of experience working in or supporting a manufacturing environment
  • 5 years of experience in engineering
  • 5 years of experience in using professional written and verbal communication skills to achieve deliverables
  • Work as a self-starter as there is little to know daily direction from management
  • Travel 25% of the time

TYPICAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years’ related work experience, 10 years’ related work experience, etc.).

Responsibilities
  • Analyzes data to make recommendations on projects requiring manufacturing engineering practices.
  • Manages projects using approved project management techniques.
  • Coordinates improvements in engineering designs, manufacturing processes.
  • Creates or approves supporting processes and related documentation.
  • Assists with consultation and training on procedures and processes related to engineering and production.
  • Participates on product development teams and identifies producibility issues to maximize efficiency.
  • Performs feasibility studies in support of product development.
  • Performs technical and administrative activities to meet regulatory, production and process requirements in support of the manufacturing plan.
  • Communicates with internal/external stakeholders to ensure products and services compliance.
  • Works under general direction.
