We are a vibrant Indian–Sri Lankan restaurant offering authentic dishes crafted with care and passion. We are seeking an Experienced Tandoori Chef to join our kitchen team and craft traditional tandoori dishes that delight our guests
Role Overview
The Experienced Tandoori Chef will be responsible for preparing, marinating, cooking, and presenting tandoori dishes using traditional techniques. This role requires expertise with tandoor ovens, marination methods, and knowledge of Indian and Sri Lankan cuisine, while maintaining high standards of hygiene and quality.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare, marinate, and cook a variety of tandoori dishes including meats, seafood, and vegetarian items
· Ensure consistency in taste, portion, and presentation
· Maintain tandoor ovens and ensure they operate safely and efficiently
· Assist in menu planning and development of new tandoori dishes
· Monitor stock levels, order ingredients, and manage inventory efficiently
· Maintain kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards
· Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in tandoori cooking techniques
· Collaborate with the Head Chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Requirements
· Proven experience as a Tandoori Chef or Senior Chef specializing in Indian/Sri Lankan cuisine
· Strong knowledge of marination, grilling, and tandoor oven techniques
· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
· Excellent organizational and teamwork skills
· Professional, reliable, and flexible with working hours (evenings, weekends, holidays)
· Culinary qualification in Indian/Sri Lankan cuisine is an advantage
· Health and Safety Level 1 Certificate
· Food and Hygienic Level 1 Certificate
