JOB SUMMARY

This is a full-time, hybrid role for an experiencedUS Tax Senior Manager or Director.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for tax planning, compliance, preparation, reviewing and ensuring adherence to tax laws. This role involves working closely with clients to optimize their tax strategies and filings.
The candidate must be responsible and proactive, with a keen eye for detail and a strong ability to organize, prioritize, and solve problems effectively. Excellent time management and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively are essential.
Three weeks annually of vacation and an enhanced benefits plan are included with employment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS Degree in Accounting or related field of study; CPA, JD, LLM, or EA required
  • 5-7 years of experience at a managerial level in Public Accounting, with a focus on tax management
  • Experience with S-Corps, C-Corps, Partnership Returns and consolidated and combined Returns
  • Experience with Individual returns an asset
  • Experience preparing or reviewing accounting for income taxes in accordance with ASC 740 and IFRS
  • Working knowledge of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance
  • Basic knowledge of Canadian tax laws is a plus
  • Experience in dealing with international tax matters is a plus

    Pay: $100,000.00-$150,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Review tax returns ranging in complexity, including 1120s, 1065s, 1120-F, SALT returns, PFICs, 8865s, 8858s, 1042s, 1099s, 5471s, 5472s, and other related forms
  • Manage all aspects of client needs and engagement matters, from sending PBC (Prepared by Client) requests to issuing final bills
  • Serve as the primary contact for clients, handling inquiries, providing timely and accurate advice, and ensuring client satisfaction
  • Provide tax advisory services to clients, including corporate tax planning, research, compliance, and M&A activities
  • Coordinate tax service needs with corporate clients, ensuring federal and state tax compliance
  • Stay up to date on current tax practices, laws, and regulations, ensuring the firm’s services remain compliant and cutting-edge.
  • Assist with new business development, recognizing tax issues for existing clients and extending service offerings
  • Ensure all research findings are consistent with firm policies and professional standards
  • Oversee the use of tax software tools and work processes, contributing to the development of best practices
  • Manage corporate client needs, including tax services and federal and state tax compliance
  • Act as a mentor to staff, providing performance feedback and supporting their development
  • Provide support for internal Balance operations as required
  • Other responsibilities commensurate with your role and as assigned by Balance from time to time
