Description Premier Infrastructure & Energy, a trusted subcontractor to National Grid, is seeking Experienced Utility Locate Technicians who have prior experience working as underground utility locators. In this role, you’ll be responsible for locating underground gas services using specialized equipment and map reading skills. As a Experienced Utility Locate Technician, your primary responsibility is to accurately, safely, and efficiently identify underground utilities. This role demands a strong work ethic, effective time management, and a firm commitment to safety. You should be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, walking long distances daily, and interacting with others in a friendly, professional manner. Learn and apply technical material related to underground utility locating. Organize and prioritize daily locate tickets to maximize efficiency. Travel to assigned job sites and accurately locate and mark underground gas facilities. Read and interpret utility records, maps, and prints to ensure precise facility identification. Operate locating equipment and follow standard procedures to perform accurate, high-quality locates. Re-check records and verify field markings for accuracy to prevent potential damage to underground utilities. Communicate with your supervisor when assistance or clarification is needed. Use a laptop and company software to document time worked and facilities located for billing and recordkeeping purposes. Take and upload photographs and videos of completed locate sites as required. Conduct daily inspections of company vehicles, equipment, and supplies before beginning work. Ensure all locating equipment is functioning properly before use. Requirements Must have both active NGC 21 and 70 Must have a valid NYS Driver's License Ability to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms up to 2/3rd of the time Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Ability to talk and hear over 2/3rds of time
Responsibilities
The primary responsibility is to accurately identify underground utilities using specialized equipment. This includes organizing daily tasks, traveling to job sites, and ensuring safety and accuracy in all locates.
