Experienced Workplace Coaching Specialist (Thermal Protection Systems) – Space Launch Systems Company: The Boeing Company We are seeking a knowledgeable and Experienced Workplace Coaching Specialist (TPS) - SLS (Level 4) to support our Space System Launch (SLS) Thermal Protection Systems (TPS) team at Kennedy Space Center, FL. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing coaching, training, and mentorship to technicians engaged in thermal protection system application and tasks, ensuring that team members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively while maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. Position Responsibilities: Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for new and existing Technicians, focusing on the use of thermal protection system-specific tooling and hardware. Provide hands-on coaching to team members in performing TPS application work, including TPS spray foam application, foam pour application, cork bonding, and RT455 application on components and core-stage platform. Facilitate workshops and training sessions on accessing job information through computing equipment and online information systems. Observe and assess employee performance during application of TPS systems application, providing constructive feedback and guidance to enhance skills and efficiency. Assist in defining and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality, performance, and reliability. Ensure that all training and coaching activities are documented in accordance with applicable procedures and standards. Support team members in understanding and adhering to technical documentation, including SLS technical drawings, schematics, and process specifications. Collaborate with team members to identify areas for process improvement and recommend refinements to assembly and integration practices. Analyze production data and customer feedback to assist in root cause analysis and corrective action development. Promote a culture of safety and compliance within the team, ensuring that all employees are aware of and follow safety protocols when using powered hand tools and equipment. Maintain certifications required for assembly and integration work. Assist in the development of training materials and resources to enhance the skills of the Technician team. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): 5+ years’ experience in SLS manufacturing TPS applications Strong understanding of SLS thermal protection systems process and procedures Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach and mentor team members effectively Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement. Ability to work under general supervision and collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Bachelor’s degree or higher High technical aptitude for integration of mechanical systems Previous experience in a coaching or training role within a manufacturing or assembly environment Certification in relevant safety and industry standards Strong documentation and blueprint reading skills Ability to work any shift Shift: This position will be supporting and assigned to 3rd shift, but can be utilized on different shifts depending on business conditions Additional Information: This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility. This is a NASA safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
