WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR We are looking for an experienced XR Developer to join our engineering team on-site in Ismaning and contribute to the development of Hololight Space. The ideal candidate is a strong software engineer with extensive Unity and C# expertise, experience developing production-grade XR applications, and a passion for creating robust and scalable immersive solutions. A pragmatic engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges Someone who values code quality, maintainability, and performance A team player who collaborates effectively with other developers and disciplines Curiosity for emerging XR technologies and a desire to continuously improve technical expertise A passion for building XR solutions that deliver real value in enterprise and industrial environments YOUR MISSION Design, develop, and maintain high-quality XR applications and core platform features using Unity and C# Develop reusable, maintainable, and extensible software architectures Implement and optimize XR interactions, rendering pipelines, UI systems, and application workflows Integrate external services, enterprise systems, native libraries, and third-party SDKs Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks related to CPU, GPU, memory, and networking Debug and troubleshoot complex issues across multiple platforms and XR devices Contribute to code reviews and maintain high engineering standards Collaborate closely with fellow engineers to improve tooling, workflows, and development practices Stay current with advancements in Unity, OpenXR, graphics technologies, and XR hardware platforms YOUR PROFILE Required Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field 3+ years of professional Unity development experience, including experience delivering XR applications in enterprise, industrial, or B2B environments Strong proficiency in C# with a focus on writing clean, maintainable, and well-structured code Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, software architecture, and design patterns Proven experience developing production-ready XR, AR, VR, or MR applications Experience building and maintaining large-scale or technically complex software systems Experience integrating external services, third-party SDKs, native plugins, or backend systems into Unity applications Strong debugging, profiling, and performance optimization skills, including CPU, GPU, memory, and application lifecycle analysis Experience working with source control systems such as Git Ability to independently drive technical solutions from concept to deployment Preferred Qualifications: Experience developing applications for HoloLens 2, Meta Quest, Pico, or other XR platforms Strong knowledge of OpenXR, MRTK, XR Interaction Toolkit, AR Foundation, and related XR frameworks Experience with multiplayer and networking frameworks such as Photon or Unity Netcode Experience integrating managed and native C++ libraries Familiarity with graphics programming concepts, shaders, rendering pipelines, and optimization techniques Experience with asynchronous programming, multithreading, and performance-critical applications Experience integrating CAD, PLM Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software development practices WHAT YOU GET Contact About us Hololight is the leading provider of enterprise software, infrastructure, and streaming technology for Augmented and Virtual Reality (XR). Responsibilities
