On behalf of our technology client, Procom is searching for a Network SME for a 12-month role with the possibility of extension. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Montreal office.

EXPERT EN RÉSEAUX / NETWORK SME - JOB DESCRIPTION:

Join our team as a Network Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Montreal, focused on designing and securing large-scale network infrastructures. This role involves working on complex, high-security environments, ensuring robust security and smooth business operations.

EXPERT EN RÉSEAUX / NETWORK SME - MANDATORY SKILLS:

  • 10+ years of networking experience, ideally in financial services, technology vendors, or systems integrators.
  • Expertise with Ethernet technologies (STP, 802.1x, VPC, Multilayer Switching, Leaf-Spine IP Fabric).
  • Deep knowledge of IP routing protocols (RIP, OSPF, BGP, MPBGP, TCP/IP) and multicast (PIM, IGMP, MSDP).
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco ASR, Nexus, Catalyst, and Arista switches, and network operating systems.
  • Strong background in network security concepts and multi-tier security architectures.
  • Experience with network tools such as Wireshark, Infoblox, HPNA, Splunk, Sevone.
  • Strong scripting/automation skills and the ability to develop solutions independently.

EXPERT EN RÉSEAUX / NETWORK SME – NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

  • UNIX or Linux skills.
  • CCIE or similar certifications.
  • Knowledge of Wireless infra, SDN, SDWAN, DMVPN, public cloud.
  • Experience working on enterprise-level initiatives with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience with Optical equipment like Adva/Ciena or timing infra like Spectracom/Meinberg.
Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain large, secure network infrastructures for both production and non-production environments.
  • Lead efforts to separate and secure networks, ensuring robust security and smooth business operations.
  • Work closely with business and technical teams to explain and socialize risks and implement network designs.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive network implementation plans, focusing on security and stability.
  • Automate repetitive network tasks using tools like Python and Ansible.
  • Perform scheduled network changes and migrations during weekends and outside normal business hours as required.
