Which is where you come in.   What you will be doing   We are currently looking for a Funding Expert to join our Government Affairs team in our headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. In this role you will be  responsible for initiating, preparing, submitting, and managing publicly funded projects for Umicore, which involves representing Umicore in dealings with funding agencies, industry associations, and governmental bodies in Belgium.   Responsibilities:   Initiation and Management of Publicly Funded Projects Identify funding opportunities for Umicore development projects in Belgium and Europe by understanding the funding roadmaps in different regions/countries Understanding the business direction of relevant business teams Establish and maintain relationships with authorities and funding agencies at national and EU levels. Prepare and contribute to funding applications for research and development projects. Submit funding proposals and negotiate project work plans and budgets. Monitor project progress and ensure all funding requirements are fulfilled, reported and archived   Project Leadership and Coordination Coordinate project activities across various Umicore development teams. Present development results during project meetings and in official reports. Represent Umicore in interactions with funding agencies and regulatory authorities. Ensure formal documentation of project work in line with funding regulations. Lead collaborative projects involving internal and external stakeholders.   Representation in Industry and Professional Associations Represent Umicore in relevant industry and professional associations. Develop technology development concepts and advocate these with funding bodies and policymakers.   Who we are looking for   Requirements:   10+ years of experience in business or corporate context with proven experience in managing complex projects in the funding space University degree in engineering or sciences Strong background in project management, ideally in publicly funded projects. Excellent communicator Fluent English (both written and spoken) Pro-active and taking independent initiative Familiarity with EU and Belgian funding frameworks and regulations Good team player Assertive though empathic Open minded and flexible Organized and working according to strict deadlines   What we offer   We aim to lead the way.
