JOB POSITION

We are currently seeking an experienced Export Freight Forwarding Manager to lead and manage our export operations out of our Los Angeles (LAX) branch. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of hands-on experience in air and sea export freight forwarding, a well-established network within the logistics industry, and strong expertise in managing shipments from the US to Australia. This is a leadership role that includes team management, operational oversight, and customer engagement.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 10 years of export freight forwarding experience, with in-depth knowledge of air and sea freight operations.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing export teams and operations.
  • Strong industry network with airlines, shipping lines, and logistics partners.
  • Detailed understanding of export compliance, including US export controls and documentation.
  • Expertise in US to AUS export logistics and associated customs procedures.
  • Proficiency in CargoWise/EDI or similar freight forwarding systems (preferred).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Mandarin language skills are a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities
  • Manage all export freight operations (air and sea) for the LAX branch, with a strong focus on US to Australia trade lanes.
  • Lead and develop the export operations team, ensuring high performance and productivity.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with airlines, shipping lines, freight partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely and compliant processing of all export documentation, including airway bills, commercial invoices, SED/EEI filings, and packing lists.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of US export regulations and international shipping standards.
  • Oversee the accurate tracking and coordination of export shipments from booking through delivery.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Use logistics software (e.g., CargoWise/EDI) to manage bookings, documentation, and shipment visibility.
  • Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within export markets and services.
  • Manage operational costs and ensure profitability within the export freight division.
