We are seeking a dedicated Export Wholesale Sales Manager to join our team and drive our export wholesale initiatives.

POSITION OVERVIEW

As the Export Wholesale Sales Manager, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing wholesale sales activities exclusively in international export markets. This role involves developing and implementing sales strategies, building relationships with key international customers, and optimizing our export platform to drive client and sales growth. You will report directly to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and collaborate with cross-functional teams including commercial/brokering, executive, marketing, operations, quality/regulatory, and others to identify opportunities for international expansion while maintaining strong relationships with existing export clients.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in wholesale sales, preferably in export markets within the cannabis or regulated industries.
  • Strong understanding of international market trends, sales strategies, and relationship management.
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements for controlled products, including Health Canada licenses and export regulations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, loyalty, and exclusivity to the company’s business.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site with flexibility for varying schedules.
Responsibilities
  • Report directly to the CCO and work cross-functionally with the Quality/Regulatory department, interacting regularly with the executive team and other department heads to ensure daily operational priorities align with corporate and financial goals.
  • Be available to work on-site at the company office and facility, and travel to international places of business as required for the benefit of the company, at the direction of the CCO.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies for bulk wholesale opportunities in export markets; analyze international market trends and adjust strategies accordingly; set performance goals, monitor progress, and prepare/present sales reports to senior management.
  • Oversee the management of the HD bulk wholesale platform for exports, ensuring efficient operation; procure samples for the platform, coordinating with suppliers for timely availability; prepare samples for customer viewing, ensuring quality standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels on the export platform, ensuring adequate supply of samples for potential international buyers; coordinate with the inventory team to update stock levels and address shortages or excesses.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential international customers and competitors; analyze global market conditions and adapt sales strategies; monitor industry trends and report findings to the Commercial/Brokering team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key international customers; address inquiries and resolve issues promptly; negotiate pricing and agreements.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize efficiency, quality, and compliance with GPP (and GMP, as applicable) standards for exports.
  • Develop and implement processes for procurement, inventory control, and allocation of samples within the company’s Bulk Wholesale export platform, facilitating a technology-focused (automated) and customer-centric approach.
  • Communicate regularly with cross-functional teams (Quality Assurance, Regulatory Compliance, Finance, Marketing/Sales, Commercial/Brokering) to align operational activities with business objectives.
  • Create and implement systems to streamline routine tasks (for yourself and reporting employees), minimizing manual workload, mistakes, and dependencies on cross-functional partners.
  • Ensure day-to-day compliance and completion of all operational duties related to export licenses with Health Canada and international authorities, including record-keeping, security, health and safety, regular reporting, and general compliance.
  • Be present on the licensed site when required to satisfy obligations related to holding a Security Clearance and associated privileges (as applicable).
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations, especially those pertaining to exports, Quality Assurance, and Compliance under Health Canada, Canada Revenue Agency, and other applicable international regulatory bodies.
  • Communicate clearly and promptly with colleagues, managers, executives, and clients; collaborate effectively, share knowledge, and resolve conflicts constructively.
  • Adapt to new tasks, shifting priorities, and learn new skills as needed. Troubleshoot issues logically using a risk-assessment-based approach, prioritizing solutions that benefit the company.
  • Complete tasks with a solutions-oriented mindset, in a timely manner, with minimal ongoing input.
