Job Description
The Electrical System Engineer is responsible for the electrical design and development of quality products using sound engineering judgement, to meet the communicated company/department goals. Responsible for the electrical design and control system integration of CNC Grinding Machines in the Machine Tool market. This includes design, development, and validation of quality products using sound engineering judgement and standards to meet the product requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven technical competency in specific engineering discipline.
  • Proven comprehension of design principles and their application to machine tool design.
  • Proven ability to autonomously manage small to medium projects, prioritizing tasks and delivering within agreed time frame.
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders, root cause analysis and problem solving.
  • Demonstrate a practical application of data collection and analysis and preferred experience with safety PLC programming.
  • Preferred experience with Codesys PLC programming.
  • Proven skills in Microsoft Office applications to a medium level particularly MS Excel and EPLAN or equivalent ECAD environment (EPLAN experience preferred).
  • Proven skills designing complicated electrical cabinets from scratch.
  • Sound knowledge to select electrical switchgear (CBs, motor starters, VFDs, servo drives, mains switches) based on various criteria and sound electrical design principles.
  • Proven skills in electrical test and analysis hardware (multimeters, oscilloscopes)
  • Proven advanced electrical analysis experience including noise and spectrum analysis, EMC testing and compliance, and earthing strategies (high frequency vs low frequency)
  • Preferred experience in designing machinery based on servo control systems or CNC machine design background.
  • Proven skills in meeting Functional Safety standards or some form of regulatory experience and Machinery Directive (CE) is preferred.
