About the Opportunity This role sits at the heart of our R&D and tool‑development work. You’ll support the full lifecycle of our downhole wireline instruments — from concept and design through to testing, calibration, and field commissioning. The role will: - Support R&D initiatives to design and improve downhole tools - Diagnose, repair, and enhance electronic instrumentation - Build prototypes and validate new designs through rigorous testing - Develop and modify firmware, embedded systems, and supporting software - Perform SMT/SMD soldering and electronic board work - Create and update electrical schematics and 3D mechanical models - Commission new tools in the field and analyse downhole data - Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal engineering teams - Manage small R&D projects from concept to delivery This is a role for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, experimenting with new ideas, and seeing their innovations deployed in real‑world geothermal environments.
