As a Tax Senior Associate or new Manager, you’ll work with a broad client base and tackle varied, complex tax matters. You’ll deliver tax effect accounting and annual compliance, contribute to advisory projects, and grow fast with support from a collaborative, high-performing team. Key responsibilities: Provide practical, high-quality tax advice to a diverse portfolio — from HNW individuals and family trusts to private businesses, large corporates, and multinationals. Assist with managing your own client portfolio and relationships. Prepare and/or review technical compliance: tax effect accounting, IFRS tax note disclosures, and returns. Coach and support Associates, contributing to their development and our team culture. Identify risk areas and sustainable planning opportunities across the tax life cycle. Plan and deliver multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and great client outcomes. Commerce/Accounting and/or Law degree. 3–4+ years’ experience in a tax team (Big 4, second tier, in-house, or law firm) with solid knowledge of New Zealand tax legislation. Proficiency in tax effect accounting, tax note disclosures, and annual compliance. Strong accounting fundamentals with the ability to read and interpret financial statements. Familiarity with Xero (XPM), Excel, and data analytics tools; TaxLab experience is desirable. Either based in Hawke’s Bay or keen to relocate. Analytical, detail-driven, and proactive - you take ownership and deliver.
