Job Description Our headspace Knox and Lilydale teams are seeking expressions of interest from Allied Health Practitioners (Clinical Psychologists, General Psychologists, Accredited Mental Health Social Workers and Occupational Therapists) to provide services under the Medicare Better Access Scheme, delivering focused psychological strategies to young people aged 12-25. Important eligibility requirements To be eligible for this opportunity, applicants must: Be eligible to register with Medicare and able to bulk bill clients under the Medicare Better Access Scheme (MBS) Have a minimum of 2 years post‑qualifying clinical experience About the program headspace is a federally funded, innovative early intervention program that supports the health and wellbeing of young people aged 12–25. Our services span mental health, physical health, and alcohol and other drug support, with a strong focus on helping young people engage in education, training and employment pathways. The headspace Knox and headspace Lilydale teams are vibrant, supportive, multidisciplinary teams working collaboratively to support young people and families across Melbourne’s Outer East. The teams include directly employed staff across intake, community engagement, therapeutic and administrative roles, alongside co‑located partner agency staff, private providers and student placements. Your role, your impact You will be providing high standard, person-centred counselling and focused psychological strategies to young people with mental health concerns. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team members as needed to coordinate care. As a contractor, you will: Be allocated young people who have been assessed and are ready to access services Be provided a room to operate from, free of charge Agree to bulk bill young people for sessions, with no cancellation fees, ensuring services remain free and accessible for young people In addition, you will be supported with: Clinical support from the Clinical Lead, including consultations, between‑session support where required, and assistance with filling cancellations Administrative support, including monthly billing, reception services, appointment bookings and reminders Fully web‑based medical record software, with IT support To succeed in this role, you will have: An approved tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work or Occupational Therapy, with registration with the relevant professional body Eligibility to provide Medicare Benefits Schedule services (full AHPRA registration for Psychology, endorsed Occupational Therapist, or Accredited Mental Health Social Worker) Willingness to provide required compliance documentation, including a current Police Check and Working with Children Check Proof of professional indemnity insurance to a value of $10 million and a valid ABN Additional Information Click ‘Apply Now’ to submit your application.
