Description The Extended Care Assistant supports and advances the mission of FCS by directing the activities of our extended care students; reports to the Extended Care Coordinator and is evaluated by the Principal. Arrives promptly and stays until such time as necessary responsibilities are completed Develops a warm rapport with students and a positive, secure environment; trains students in habits and routines which are part of the FCS philosophy; maintains excellent student conduct and attention Keeps accurate sign-in/sign-out sheets and any other appropriate records Prepares Bible lessons and weekly and seasonal crafts, integrating Biblical principles throughout the program Prays regularly for each child and faithfully follows the Biblical guidelines of the school Conveys a Christian perspective in daily interactions and conversations with sensitivity and love with parents and students Maintains student and family confidentiality and refrains from discussing issues outside of extended care with parents Supervises students on the playground or in the gym, observing principles of safety at all times Interacts with students, building relationships through one-on-one and group activities Engages in physical play with children in grades Pre-K up to 5th Supervises restroom time Helps keep the extended care rooms tidy and the materials organized Maintains organization of storage areas Helps at snack time with opening drinks and assisting with cleaning tables or desks after snack Puts materials away and prepares new materials for the next day Keeps the extended care rooms attractive and inviting; if applicable, keeps bulletin boards current If supervising homework time, assures a quiet work environment and assists students in their areas of struggle Assists with other tasks as needed Attends Prayer 'N' Share regularly (if contract hours accommodate) Prompt and faithful with any assigned supervision duties Checks email regularly and completes timecard promptly Annually maintains CPR and First Aid Training certification and submits Staff Health Report and any other required documents in a timely manner Demonstrates professional responsibility in being punctual and diligent in attendance Dresses modestly, following the Staff Dress Code Seeks an awareness of the total school vision and serves willingly in special areas which enhance the overall effectiveness of the ministry Requirements 1. Committed Christian with a close personal walk with the Lord and the Christian character qualities to serve as a role model for young people 2. Regular in attendance at an evangelical Protestant church 3. Commitment to a Biblical lifestyle, not promoting or engaging in premarital, extramarital, transgender, or homosexual behavior 4. If married, a solid commitment based on Mark 10:9 and positive marital relationship 5. Strong commitment to Christian education 6. Ability to maintain an orderly learning atmosphere 7. Enthusiastic, sensitive, loving rapport with students, openness with parents and staff 8. Well organized, diligent, creative 9. Ability to carry out physical requirements related to the job and building environment, such as (but not limited to) climbing stairs and supervising students both out-of-doors and indoors 10.
