Academies of Math and Science (AMS Little Rock) Extended Care Associate (Part-Time) Location: 6423 Stagecoach Road, Little Rock, AR 72204 Compensation: $15 per hour Schedule: The primary requirement for this position is aftercare, with mandatory hours from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. This time slot is non-negotiable as it meets our essential needs for after-school care. However, there is an opportunity to also work during before-care hours from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM, based on the candidate’s preference. Position Overview This position is primarily responsible for supervising students before or after school during the extracurricular Extended Care program. Essential Duties & Accountabilities Duties of this job include, but are not limited to: Safety: Ensure the safety of students and staff Activities: Helping to run daily activities and ensure the established schedule is followed Supplies: Distributing snacks and supplies to children Communication: Interacting with students, parents, and staff Behavior management: Assisting with behavior management and discipline Activities planning: Developing and planning activities for students Homework assistance: Providing homework assistance and academic support Classroom environment: Maintaining a clean and organized classroom/extended care environment Collaboration: Collaborating with other staff members Competencies Exceptional customer services skills Positively interact with all staff Create a safe environment that is conducive to learning Excellent communication skills and ability to create a positive, supportive, and safe environment for parents, students and staff Ability to collaborate with teachers and school staff Ability to maintain a professional appearance Must demonstrate an extremely high regard for confidential and sensitive information Ideal candidate would be bilingual, speaking English and Spanish Requirements High School Diploma Two or more years’ experience in a school or customer service-related field Must be able to obtain approved employability through the Arkansas Department of Education Must possess strong communication and organizational skills Must demonstrate initiative and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously Work Environment and Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
