Description Job Overview: Extended Day Faculty lead students in activities and games during recess/lunch & after school, prepare for after-school activities/projects, and guide students with healthy food choices. Sspervise students while eating during recess/lunch, clean up during recess, and making certain students play time is safe and inclusive. Monitor the proper use of recess equipment, help students develop their social-emotional awareness, and assist students with conflict resolution. Will maintain effective communication with co-workers, teachers, students, parents, and administration,?and document incident reports in a clear and concise manner. Reports To: Director of Extended Day & Summer Programs Job Type: On-Site, Full-time, Hourly, Non-Exempt Compensation: $22 - $28 per hour Benefits: Kaiser, UHC Health plans with school contribution up to 90%, dependent coverage up to 25% Guardian Dental, Vision, Life, Accident, Short/Long Term Disability, covered by school Retirement 401K plan with school contribution of 6% FSA (Flexible Spending Account for healthcare) with school match up to $1000 Additional FSA-Dependent Care, Specified Disease, Hospital Confinement, Whole Life available Paid Vacation/Personal Days, paid Holidays, paid School Breaks, Sick Leave with rollover hours Partial tuition remission is available Years of service bonus Paid professional development and continuing education Requirements Responsibilities and Duties: these are not written to be all inclusive nor limited to - Using technology to register students in and out of extended day programming daily Develop and implement daily activities focusing on language arts, math, games, and technology where developmentally appropriate Provided teaching that motivates students to participate and instill enthusiasm for learning, exploration, and creativity Bring to and pick up students from their onsite After School Enrichment courses in a timely manner Help with snack time distribution of food Assure that all students have a safe experience during extended day programming Maintain effective communication with co-workers, students, parents, and administration Run an enrichment class in extended or help inside the classroom when assistance is needed throughout the day Additional Duties Participate in parent-teacher and student conferences Attend school chapel, committees, meetings, and other internal school functions Participate in and help support, Back to School Nights, Open Houses, Graduation and Admissions Events, as scheduled on weekdays and weekends Chaperone student field trips; some overnight Engage in ongoing professional development experiences, including out of the area opportunities, throughout the calendar year (including summer) as directed and supported by the administration Other related duties assigned by Supervisor Qualifications: 2-3 years of experience in childcare Candidates with educational credits and/or certificates will be prioritized for consideration Eligibility to work in the USA; we are unable to provide sponsorship Pass background check and references, provide negative TB test Current Bloodborne Pathogens, First Aid & CPR certifications or able to attain within the first 2 months of employment Skills and Characteristics: Reading, writing, speaking, listening, basic mathematics Desires a highly collaborative work environment Values innovation and creativity Growth mindset Conflict resolution Good sense of humor Passion for interacting with students in and outside of the classroom Positive team player, ready to contribute as needed Ability to use technology to enhance the classroom experience Motivation to use a range of resources that represent diverse cultures, experiences and viewpoints Equipment / Materials: Apple/Mac and iOS environment with laptop and similar devices, and accessories Google Suite cloud applications Integration of technology into classroom, presentation electronics, software, and accessories Operate standard office equipment including copier, postage machine, laminator Physical Requirements: Ability to visually monitor the room/outdoor areas and students Prolong standing up to and above 80% of time. Includes sitting, squatting, reaching, and kneeling Climb stairs and navigate sloping terrain Ability to move equipment/boxes and ability to lift up to 25lbs. Work Environment: Navigate 10 acres of land with multi surfaces, multi-level with transitions Surfaces including wood, linoleum, grass, concrete, dirt, gravel Sustain loud noises for a minimum of 50% of time depending on activities Sustain indoor artificial lighting for 80% of time or higher depending on activities, backlit monitors Able to handle outdoor weather including bright sun to rain, and temperature from cold to hot
