Job Overview The Site Coordinator will direct, organize and manage the daily operations of campus-based before and/or afterschool Extended Learning programs. Position Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities Program Support Create and reinforce an inviting and safe educational environment for students including, but not limited to, age-appropriate enrichment, creative arts, and recreation activities Work with groups of children with diverse abilities and needs and ensure safety and well-being of students at the assigned campus Work collaboratively to coordinate programs and activities for field trips and other full-day events Communicate clearly with parents about their children and the program Communicate and work collaboratively with the campus administration and staff to identify community and student needs, provide consistency with campus climate and procedures, and ensure the proper use of building materials and equipment Actively recruit students throughout the year to maintain minimum enrollment for all programs Maintain efficient and accurate student and staff records including financial, attendance, medical, and discipline records with extreme discretion, in a timely manner, and in compliance with all confidentiality requirements Maintain a professional and confidential relationship with regard to students, parents, and other department staff Serve as a program ambassador to promote the program within the district, school and community Use appropriate technology and processes to comply with department policies/procedures, including student management systems, payroll, vendor payments, and site supply orders Curriculum Lead and supervise implementation of site curriculum (i.e., lesson plans), including age-appropriate subjects and character development activities Training Provide strong leadership to multiple staff; provide ongoing targeted coaching and training on prescribed areas Coordinate staff meetings and participate in continuous improvement initiatives (i.e., staff development, curriculum development) Orient and train assigned staff Safety Review daily attendance and implement steps to verify absences and ensure all children are accounted for on a daily basis Maintain a highly functional site at assigned campus in compliance with district, health, nutritional and program standards, policies and procedures Supervisory Responsibilities Orient, train, supervise and evaluate assigned staff Facilitate weekly staff meetings to discuss administrative and programmatic issues Qualification Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the above essential duties satisfactorily. High School diploma or GED College transcript accepted in lieu of High School Diploma or GED Associate's degree or 60 hours from an accredited college or university preferred Certification in Child Care preferred Minimum of 1 year of childcare experience, required Minimum of 1 year of management and supervisory experience, required Demonstrated knowledge of child development theories and practices related to the physical, intellectual and social development of pre-school and school age students Proficient in general computing skills, including MS Office Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both orally and written Ability to handle stressful situations, multi-task and meet deadlines Physical Requirements/Working Conditions The work environment characteristics and physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Potential exposure to bodily fluids and frequent childhood, pre-teen or teen illnesses may occur. Work is also performed outside and on field trips. Travel is required between district campuses and facilities.
