SUMMARY:

Devon Surface Care is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our fun, hard-working team. This role will be focused on delivering our larger cleaning contracts, using jet washing tools and methods. Based in Tiverton, our Operators travel across North and Mid-Devon to provide high quality cleaning on large sites. We pride ourselves on delivering an excellent service to our customers, and in going above and beyond to overcome any obstacles.
Description:
The role of Lead Operator is to be the “right hand person” to the Site Supervisor and lead their own sites and projects where applicable. They consistently and competently perform practical tool-based tasks which are the core of what DSC does, always embodying the values that we champion.
They are expected to manage the site within a deputy role to the Site Supervisor. This includes managing their own time and tasks, and completing set targets, as well as overseeing the work of other junior members.
They will be expected to handle their individual responsibilities throughout the working day: It is essential that they consistently display good preparation before site work begins; for an excellent standard of workmanship at all times, and a timely (unrushed, well presented) completion of the day’s objective key results.
They proactively complete relevant training and personal development of required skills and qualifications to progress within the company (CSCS, First Aid, IPAF). We value their confidence to contribute to whole aspects of site completion under the Site Supervisor’s guidance and to take ownership of various aspects.
Previous experience and a comprehensive understanding of using jet washing tools and small plant machinery is essential. The successful candidate will have a can-do attitude and a calm, professional manner.

ROLE DESCRIPTION: LEAD OPERATOR

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Off site prep: To select tools, clothing & protective equipment; pack truck/trailer.
• On site prep: To move plants and furniture, set up machines, ladders etc
• Site work
• Tool and machine operation: To operate jet washers, power tools and machinery in accordance with company procedure.
• Labouring: To complete manual tasks as instructed by line manager to ensure smooth and safe completion of daily site objectives.
• Minor repairs / Remedial work: Where appropriate, to assist with basic tasks on site whilst supervised.
• Completion & de-mobilising: To tidy up, rinse down, pack away equipment, replace plants and furniture. Unload back at base, prepare for the next day.
• Records & feedback: Report to Site Supervisor details of work completed; to feedback on job scope, time, customer queries and issues with delivery.
• Training: Commitment to training and development of required skills and qualifications to progress within Skills Matrix.
