TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Team management and daily work oversight · Provide line management for local engineers, including hiring support, onboarding, and career development in partnership with the Local Head of Costing. · Identify local engineers’ technical skill gaps and coordinate their training with Subdomain Leaders. · Foster a positive, feedback‑based team culture focused on continuous improvement and aiming for excellence. · Assign local engineers to projects, costing library and other daily tasks, ensuring optimal usage of resources and growth, with balanced, realistic workload and alignment with expertise. · Monitor workload distribution through regular touchpoints with local engineers. 2. Opportunities management · Act as the local Domain representative to Sales; involve local engineers in customer pitches and free acquisition work when deemed beneficial. · Following established processes and methods, assess technical feasibility, required effort, teardown needs, and best feasible schedule within agreed response times for project and Costing Library vehicle opportunities. · Collaborate with other Team Leaders to share resources when required, through established process and tool. · Oversee the creation of Sales teasers requested by the Local Head of Costing. 3. Delivery excellence ownership · Serve as Team Coordinator by following-up individually with local engineers, tracking adherence to the plan at Domain level, anticipating and resolving issues, acting as two‑way liaison between the Project Manager and local engineers, and representing the Domain in cross‑Domain alignments. · Own local Domain resources consumption. · Enforce adherence to working standards within the local team, and guide the appropriate selection between global and localized standards, depending on the work to be delivered. · Act as first escalation point for issues, providing hands-on problem-solving support and escalate unresolved issues to the relevant stakeholders. · Ensure high quality deliveries by conducting the quality review of every deliverable of local projects and Costing Library vehicles before client submission, following established guidelines. · Flag to the relevant Domain or Subdomain Leader any need to adapt processes, methods, or tools locally, and engage local engineers to support the development of associated new elements. · Deliver work in projects or Costing Library when capacity allows. Education and Professional Background · Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering. · Minimum of 4 years of experience as a cost engineer in an industrial context or consulting context. · A first experience in people management, with a proven ability to lead high-performing teams. · Experience in project management appreciated. Skills & Abilities · Comprehensive understanding of the respective Domain – BIW, Closures, HV Battery and Exterior components in the function of Product (Technology – Stamping, Forging, Casting, Machining, Injection, Welding, Coatings, Assembly). · Proficiency in project management tools such as ClickUp, MS Project, or equivalent. · Proficiency in PowerPoint and advanced Excel. · Professional level in English. · High sense of ownership, initiative, and collaboration. · Hands-on personality, who finds satisfaction in resolving day-to-day problems. · Decision-making: demonstrates sound judgment, with the ability to decide independently when appropriate and escalate issues at the right time. · Communication: communicates clearly and concisely, tailoring messages to different stakeholders to ensure alignment and understanding. · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. · Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, structure work effectively, and maintain attention to detail.
