GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking
a qualified and experienced
External Lighting/Street Lighting Engineer to join our team.
The successful candidate will
be accountable for completing all jobs assigned to them by the company which will include, but not limited to, installation,
maintenance
and servicing of Street Lighting Furniture (Lighting Columns, Feeder Pillars, Lit Signs & Bollards) & External Lighting.
The successful candidate will work across various sites, primarily within the social housing and local authority sectors
The company will expect all jobs to be completed to a high standard with the job holder using their technical knowledge, in-line with industry regulations and company expectations.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Please note you must have held a full UK driving license for at least 12 Months
You must have the right to work in the UK

Required Skills, Attributes & Experience

  • In-depth knowledge of the Street Lighting industry
  • Installation and maintenanceexperience.
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and legislations
  • A proactive and responsible approach to health and safety in the workplace.
  • Ability to use mobile devices to complete electronic job sheets and certification accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Highly organised and reliable.
  • Takes ownership of outcomes with high degree of accountability and integrity.
  • Qualifications
  • City & Guilds Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification.
  • Minimum of 2years experiencein the fire safety industry.
  • 2391 (Desirable)

Responsibilities
  • Where necessary interpret street lighting underground cable drawings and specifications for a Street Lighting or Bollard install and be able to work with these accordingly.
  • Work safely and in accordance with current health and safety and Electrical Regulations and standards.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and competence in working with street lighting furniture.
  • Maintain and repair/replace components within street lighting furniture (cut outs, ballasts, lamps, ignitors, photocells, lanterns)
  • Undertake ground works ranging from trenching to install new ducting/cabling to excavating and exposing underground faults
  • Investigate and diagnose underground faults using drawings and a CAT/Genny
  • Complete full installations of street lighting furniture (columns, signs, bollards, feeder pillars) and external lighting (floodlights/bulkheads).
  • Carry out routine visual and electrical inspections on street lighting furniture.
  • Completeall paperwork and job reports via the Oneserve application.
  • Ensure all work conducted is in compliance with BS 7671 regulations.
  • Attend and complete all company provided training sessions.
  • Participate in performance improvement programmes and regular appraisals
  • Liaise effectively with office staff and supervisors to resolve queries
  • Adhere to any KPI’s set by the company
  • Perform any other duties as reasonably required by your line manager or company directors
