Description
Drive Strategic Optimization: Dive deep into current and future warehouse operations to analyze efficiency, measure performance against targets, and develop a 5-year strategy to optimize Ford's North American warehouse footprint. Spearhead Cost-Saving Initiatives: Identify and lead the development of cost-saving opportunities within warehousing and material flow, ensuring the Material Planning & Logistics (MP&L) organization meets its annual cost efficiency goals. Support Future Vehicle Programs: Collaborate with New Model Launch, Manufacturing Engineering, and plant teams to provide critical cost and operational impact analysis for new vehicle programs and capacity expansions. Enhance Process Efficiency: Partner with Product Development to drive vehicle complexity reductions that translate directly to warehouse cost savings, and conduct competitive benchmarking to ensure Ford's processes are best-in-class. Provide Hands-On Plant Support: Travel to our Vehicle and Powertrain Operations plants (up to 50%) to provide expert, on-the-ground support to local teams, resolving material flow challenges and implementing Ford Production System (FPS) standards. Implement Key Supply Chain Strategies: Drive the execution of critical efficiency initiatives with Supply Chain partners, focusing on sequencing, packaging optimization, and critical parts inventory strategy. Established and active employee resource groups A bachelor's degree in supply chain, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Proven ability to work as a self-starter in a dynamic, unstructured environment where priorities can change quickly. Experience with logistics systems such as a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), SMART, and PFEP-PRO (Plan For Every Part). The ability and willingness to support up to 40% travel. A master's degree in a relevant field. 10+ years of progressive experience within MP&L, manufacturing, or supply chain operations. Direct experience managing or optimizing third-party (3PL) warehouse operations. Prior experience in a formal leadership role. Advanced data analytics skills (e.g., Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau). Experience with Ford's Industrial Engineering processes and simulation tools (e.g., Pro Planner, FlexSim).
