OPEN UNTIL FILLED Transporter/Safety Attendant Part-time extra help: Modoc County Behavioral Health Services is accepting applications for transporters and/or attendants. This is a part-time/as-needed position. Applications are available and must be submitted to Modoc County Health Services. The office is located at 441 North Main Street, Alturas, CA. It is preferred that a current resume be attached to the application. NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS: Possess a current Class “C” California Driver’s License with a clean driving record and at least 5 years of driving experience (preference given to those with experience driving in variable conditions). Ability to adhere to the standards of the Privacy Act of 1974, maintaining and enforcing all aspects of confidentiality regarding client information, the ability to work well with the public, and be able to follow the Department’s Policies and Procedures professionally.  *Preference given to applicants with experience in human/customer service with a solid understanding of engaging with people of different social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds. This role is critical in ensuring a safe and supportive environment for individuals with behavioral health needs and requires strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to care. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: **Safety Monitoring**: Ensure the safety of patients, particularly those at risk of self-harm or aggressive behavior within local hospitals, other agencies, or other supportive environments. This includes observing and reporting concerning behaviors, communicating effectively with healthcare team members regarding patient behavior, and utilizing de-escalation when appropriate. **Transporting**: Picking up qualified consumers and transporting them to and from appointments and/or facilities located inside and outside the area. **Training Participation**: Participate in ongoing training and team meetings to stay updated on best practices and improvements in care strategies. Normal shift for attendant need is 8 hours; the transportation shift is variable and dependent upon destination/need SALARY: $20 PER HOUR with increases based on longevity.
