QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience or knowledge of HVAC and/or Refrigeration Systems an asset
· General knowledge of production laboratory processes and procedures is an asset
· Experience with high-pressure systems and tubing an asset
· Must have meticulous attention to detail and have strong documentation practices
· Must pass all required background checks
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
· Light to moderate lifting (up to 25-50lbs); heavier weights with assistance
· Ability to work in climate-controlled conditions, noisy environment due to loud machinery, confined spaces and secured areas
· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
· Ability to do frequent bending, kneeling and reaching

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Purple Company is looking for an Extraction Technician (Temporary 6 Month Contract) who will support the extraction of cannabis through physical and chemical techniques. This role has potential to turn into a full-time permanent position based on business requirements. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Extraction & Product Innovation and work at a third-party site in the Toronto, GTA area. The successful candidate will also uphold strict documentation per GMP guidelines and requirements under the Cannabis Regulations Act (SOR/2018-144).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Operate laboratory equipment safely
· Make observations and calculate and record results from production runs
· Perform regular cleaning, organization and maintenance of extraction equipment
· Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and standard analytical procedures related to processes of extraction from plant material
· Work as part of a team to meet production schedules
· Retain strict inventory and record keeping control over starting materials, intermediates and finished products
· General routine maintenance of lab equipment including troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and regular data logging
· Dispose of waste
· Maintain and log all data sheets of lab operations
· Maintain flexibility and the ability to adopt variable working hours according to production needs
· Support overtime at short notice
· Other duties as required
