REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of one year’s experience in private or institutional cleaning.
  • Experience working with vulnerable clients who are dealing with age-related health conditions and/or mental disabilities is an asset.
  • Good physical and mental health.
  • Ability to work independently while following pre-set instructions and work cooperatively with the care-giving team.
  • Ability to read and write English (equivalent to the Grade 8 level).
  • Must be flexible to be able to support a diverse client group.
Responsibilities

VHA’s Extreme Cleaners have the following key areas of accountability, but not limited to:

  • Performs a combination of home cleaning services including: washing floors, sinks, and related surfaces; vacuuming, dusting and wiping down fridge and stove exterior; laundry and ironing; emptying wastebaskets; polishing furniture; washing accessible interior windows; and cleaning and organizing the inside of cupboards, stoves and fridges.
  • Performs tatks according to the client’s specifications, and using the client’s products and equipment, according to a pre-set time allowance as arranged by the agency. The client arranges for a specific set of tasks, however, any task, may be added or replaced at the client’s specific request.
  • Completes time-keeping protocols ensuring accuracy and timely submission in accordance with VHA policy.
  • Participates in team meetings as requested, with a commitment to contribution and service development.
  • Participates on project teams as appropriate.
