JOB DESCRIPTION

The extrusion operator is responsible for feeding the extrusion machine and monitoring the output of silicone tubes. The extrusion operator may cut tube to length. The extrusion operator checks for defects in quality and records any defects or malformation.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous machine operation experience of one or more year(s), (Prior extrusion, rubber or plastics experience preferred but not required).
• Ability to use and read tape measures, rulers, and other measuring equipment.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate and percent and to interpret bar graphs.
• Basic understanding of keyboard, monitor and hard drive, Microsoft Office Software, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for 8 hours.

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift

• Load and unload machinery with specified ingredient quantities.
• Monitor extrusion machine output.
• Check extruded tubes for defects i.e. warping, bubbles
• Ensure that accurate records of inspection, time and material usage are kept.
• Ensure that all process instructions are followed when fabricating customer parts.
• Maintain work area cleanliness.
• Maintain part traceability and identification requirements.
• Maintain raw material storage area in a neat and organized fashion.
