Description

A primary school in the Newark area is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team from September. This full-time role is suited to someone who enjoys working with young children and is confident supporting learning through structured play and early development activities.
The role:
You will be based in a Nursery or Reception classroom, working alongside the class teacher to assist with daily routines and planned learning. The focus will be on supporting children as they settle into the school environment and develop core communication, social, and early learning skills in line with the EYFS framework.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist with the delivery of age-appropriate learning activities
  • Support children’s development through guided play and interaction
  • Contribute to observation records and progress monitoring
  • Help maintain a well-organised and safe classroom setting
  • Work effectively as part of a team to support planning and delivery

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children in an EYFS or primary school setting
  • A consistent and practical approach to supporting young learners
  • Basic understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Teaching Support is advantageous
