Description
The Aircraft Technician Lead is responsible for leading and supervising their assigned shift in the performance of aircraft maintenance supporting both flight line and heavy maintenance operations. Reporting to the Production Superintendent or Manager, the Lead ensures all tasks are executed efficiently and in alignment with company goals. In the absence of a Production Supervisor or Manager, the Aircraft Technician Lead assumes temporary oversight of departmental production activities. The information below is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the position.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Interpret and apply company policies, procedures, core values, and FAA airworthiness standards, train subordinates accordingly.  * Enforce OSHA and OH&S requirements, ensure availability and proper use of PPE, safety systems, and tools. * Perform and oversee maintenance and repair of aircraft components including engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel, electrical, and mechanical systems.  * Use technical data, maintenance manuals, and blueprints to diagnose and resolve equipment or aircraft malfunctions.  * Demonstrate expertise in aircraft systems, electrical theory, unique tools, maintenance documentation, and ground equipment operation.    * Support the direction, coordination, and monitoring of work center operations and personnel performance, including material usage and overtime management.  * Assist in scheduling, material support coordination, and overall production management.  * Optimize resource utilization to meet contractual and organizational objectives.    * Review and analyze monthly reports to ensure effective use of personnel, equipment, and facilities. * Oversee maintenance of support equipment and manage tool inventory in accordance with the tool Control Program.  * Monitor supply and equipment levels; report shortages and ensure timely resolution. * Communicate aircraft discrepancies and corrective actions to aircrew prior to departure.  * Ensure personnel practice proper housekeeping in and around aircraft, hangars and breakroom * Approve timecards for lower-level technicians. * Perform other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * Proven expertise in assigned maintenance specialty and deep familiarity with aircraft systems.  * Ability to work independently and within a team while demonstrating sound judgment and attention to detail.    * Skilled in interpreting technical documents, maintenance procedures, and blueprints.  * Proficient in the English language with effective communication and mentoring skills.   * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is preferred.  * Must be able to work independently or part of a team.  * Must demonstrate safe and healthy workplace practices.  * Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.  * Must be able to travel within the US and internationally.  * Must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities of an Aircraft Technician Lead in daily work performance.  * Must be able to work in various weather environments and conditions.  * Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) and not be barred from any installation.  * Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. CERTIFICATIONS, LICENCES, AND REGISTRATIONS   * FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant (A&P) certification.   EDUCTATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE  * Minimum 8 years of relevant aircraft maintenance experience.     * In-depth maintenance experience with F-16 or similar aircraft platforms strongly preferred.   * Familiarity with FAA regulations, particularly 14 CFR 91 & 135, is a plus.   PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.  * Must be able to stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, sit, talk, walk, hear, see, and reach with hands and arms.  * This position requires close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.   * This role is performed around loud noises and hazardous chemicals with exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risks of electrical shock.
