Please note that these positions are expected to start in mid-January. SCHEDULE: Candidates must be able to work 1st or 2nd shift. SUMMARY Responsible for depot-level modification, upgrade, & test of aircraft sub-systems, ensuring airworthiness. Duties include, but are not limited to, inspecting, testing, modifying, and repairing avionic as well as other electrical systems/sub-systems. Examples include radar, radio, navigation, and aircraft power systems/sub-systems. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Modifies, upgrades, inspects, tests, adjusts, and repairs aircraft avionic and electrical systems, such as aircraft installed radar, radio, navigation, and power systems using hand tools and test equipment Inspects components of avionic and electrical systems and equipment for defects, such as loose connections and frayed wire, and for accuracy of assembly and installation Tests avionic and electrical systems under simulated or actual operating conditions to determine performance and airworthiness, using test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, digital meters and counters, and circuit analyzers Using hand tools, adjusts, repairs, and/or replaces defective components based on analysis of test results, following blueprints, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documents When required, calibrates installed, modified, or repaired systems and/or equipment to prescribed specifications When required, operates ground servicing equipment to operationally test, inspect, and verify functionality and air worthiness of avionic and other electrical systems When required, assist in fabricating wiring harnesses Accurately document all required U.S. Government and program forms and documents, including electronic records Must effectively interact with program and customer representatives as well as on-site business or military representatives Perform other duties as assigned CORE COMPETENCIES Change of Direction Diverse Mindset Building relationships and partnerships Focus Accountability To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Must meet one of the following requirements: A Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of related experience in avionics or electro-environmental maintenance. An Associate's degree plus 4 years of related experience in avionics or electro-environmental maintenance. High School Diploma plus 8 years of related experience in avionics or electro-environmental maintenance. F-16 experience is strongly preferred, but other fighter jet experience may be considered. 7 Skill Level is preferred. 5th generation aircraft experience is a plus. Microsoft Office Suite skills are preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to lift and carry parts, tooling, and other awkward items sometimes weighing greater than 50 lbs, including walking up and down stairs, aircraft maintenance stands, and platforms Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met. #LI-LM1 #LI-Onsite
