Food & Beverage Assistant Manager

Riverside Studios – Hammersmith, London

Full-time | Evenings & weekends required | Immediate start available

Join our F&B team at Riverside Studios

Riverside Studios is a unique multi-arts venue on the banks of the River Thames in Hammersmith, combining theatre, cinema, television, events, and hospitality under one roof.

We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Food & Beverage Assistant Manager to join our growing team and help lead our busy restaurant, bars, bakery, theatre service and events operation.

This is a hands-on management role for someone who enjoys being at the heart of the action. You’ll work closely with the Food & Beverage Manager, leading shifts, developing the team, driving sales and ensuring our customers receive an excellent experience every time.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead day-to-day F&B operations across our restaurant, bars, bakery, theatre and events.
  • Manage busy service periods, including pre-show, interval and post-show.
  • Lead, motivate and coach supervisors and front-of-house teams.
  • Ensure consistently high standards of service, presentation and hospitality.
  • Support private events, corporate functions, press nights and special events.
  • Drive sales through upselling, promotions and excellent product knowledge.
  • Monitor labour, sales, stock and wastage to support strong financial performance.
  • Oversee stock deliveries, storage, stock takes and inventory controls.
  • Ensure cash handling, till reconciliation and end-of-day procedures are completed accurately.
  • Work closely with the kitchen, events and theatre teams to deliver seamless operations.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, licensing, health & safety and cleanliness.
  • Handle customer feedback and resolve issues professionally.
  • Support recruitment, training, onboarding and performance management.
  • Take responsibility for the F&B operation in the absence of the F&B Manager.

What we're looking for

We’re looking for someone who is confident leading a team, enjoys a busy environment and genuinely cares about hospitality.

You should have:

  • Previous management or senior supervisory experience in hospitality, F&B or events.
  • Experience managing busy, high-volume service.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills.
  • Good understanding of stock control, labour costs and commercial performance.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A hands-on approach and the ability to lead from the front.
  • Good knowledge of food safety, licensing and health & safety.
  • The ability to stay calm, organised and positive under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and around a performance/event schedule.
