Description JOB DESCRIPTION Position: F&B Host Reports to: The HUB Kitchen Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Position Summary: Responsible for the efficient and correct service of food and/or beverage to patrons according to The HUB procedures and applicable state laws. Guests must feel welcome, comfortable and well attended to at all times. Essential Duties: Answers questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request. Takes orders from patrons for food and beverages at the Food Truck, bowling lanes, and coffee shop. Enters patrons’ orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff. Prepares hot or cold beverages at the coffee shop. Informs customers of daily specials if applicable. Explains how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods. Processes customer bills and collects payments from customers. Communicates with customers to resolve complaints or ensure satisfaction. Prepares tables for meals, including wiping down tables and ensuring condiments are stocked. Sets up food stations or sets up dining areas to prepare for the next shift. Stocks service areas with supplies such as coffee, condiments, and tableware. Stocks serving stations or dining areas with food or supplies. Fills salt, pepper, sugar, cream, condiment, and napkin containers. Cleans tables or counters after patrons have finished dining and at the end of the shift. Cleans food preparation areas, facilities, or equipment. Performs cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpet, tidying up server station, and taking out trash. Assists customers with seating arrangements as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Education and Experience: Must be at least 16 years of age. High School Diploma/GED or equivalent preferred. Previous server experience preferred. Valid IHS Food Handler’s Certificate required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Must be able to responsibly handle cash transactions. Must be able to work in a team environment. Excellent customer service skills. Understand and comply with all Company and departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Requires occasional heavy physical work; pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 75 pounds. Work involves almost constant exposure to elements, such as extreme temperatures, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of job.
