The Food & Beverage Supervisor supports the Food and Beverage Manager in delivering top-notch service while keeping payroll and overhead costs within budget. This role also focuses on boosting Food and Beverage sales beyond the set targets. Management-level associates are expected to work the hours needed to fulfill their responsibilities. Responsibilities: Approach all interactions with guests and employees in a friendly, attentive, and service-oriented manner. Maintain regular attendance in accordance with Avion Hospitality standards, with schedules varying based on hotel needs. Uphold high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the appropriate uniform and name tag while on duty. Comply with Avion Hospitality standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient hotel operations. Familiarize yourself with the organizational structure of Avion Hospitality Hotels and the functions of each department. Assist the Food and Beverage Manager in managing food and beverage costs. Maintain open communication with all employees, encouraging feedback on food and beverage issues and acting as a motivating force. Monitor and address any cash overages and shortages among servers. Ensure service standards are upheld throughout the department by utilizing quality control tools like the Standard of the Week and coaching sessions. Respond promptly to accidents, issues, or guest complaints within the Food and Beverage Department. Be knowledgeable about emergency procedures, including the locations of fire extinguishers and exits. Implement consistent disciplinary actions for all Food and Beverage staff. Familiarize yourself with the P.O.S. system used in the hotel. Ensure all employees are consistently attentive, friendly, and helpful to guests, coworkers, and managers. Assist the Food and Beverage Manager in preparing wage progress and productivity reports for the department. Help develop staff schedules based on business forecasts, ensuring adherence to wage control, productivity standards, and guest service scores. Participate in monthly food and beverage inventories and reconciliations. Ensure all side work duties are completed by servers. Collaborate with the Food and Beverage Manager to develop promotional ideas. Assist in planning and organizing monthly department meetings. Initiate and promote sales efforts among all service personnel. Aid the Food and Beverage Manager in conducting employee performance appraisals. Work with the Food and Beverage Manager and Food Production Manager to maintain and enhance the quality and presentation of all food products. Attend weekly Food and Beverage meetings, daily pre-meal meetings, and any other meetings required by management. Perform any additional duties as requested by management. Requirements Minimum of 1 year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field is required. A High School diploma or equivalent is also required. College coursework in a related area is a plus. Previous supervisory experience is preferred. Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly is essential. Must be able to quickly and accurately evaluate and choose between different courses of action. Initiative in job performance is crucial, including the ability to anticipate needs before they arise. Must be able to thrive in stressful, high-pressure situations while maintaining composure and objectivity. Effective problem-solving skills are required, including the ability to anticipate, prevent, identify, and resolve issues as they arise. Ability to assimilate complex information and data from various sources and adjust or modify it to meet specific needs is necessary. Must be skilled in listening, understanding, and clarifying concerns and issues raised by colleagues and guests. Familiarity with financial information and basic arithmetic functions is essential.
