FOOD & BEVERAGE SUPERVISOR

The Food & Beverage Supervisor is a hands-on position that rotates throughout each Food & Beverage Department and is expected to learn and contribute to the daily functions of each department. The indivual in this position is also responsible for performing administrative tasks. As a working Supervisor, developing and displaying leadership skills will be a key requirement in the individual’s success. This position is tailored to those who are looking to grow and advance in the Club Management field.

CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least one year of F &B experience at a private club.
  • A degree in Hospitality or Club Management is preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to positively influence subordinates.
  • Self-sufficient and able to manage time wisely.
  • Must be highly responsive to requests and inquiries.
  • Must be a self-starter and take ownership for assigned areas.
  • Uses good judgement and makes impactful decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possesses a strong sense of self awareness and emotional intelligence.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills, with a focus on attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs such as Word and Excel.
  • Has the ability to work as a team member.
  • Knowledge of beer, wine, spirits is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent walking and standing.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, reaching, and twisting.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in an outdoor environment during seasonal functions.
Responsibilities
  • Assists in all Clubhouse F&B outlets as a working Supervisor.
  • Assists Clubhouse Manager and all F&B Managers in training and administrative duties.
  • Responsible for effectively communicating Club updates and information to areas of responsibility.
  • Implements/presents current ideas to direct reports to enhance the member and employee experience.
  • Counsels with other managers and employees about employee grievances and complaints; directs problem correction where possible.
  • Takes ownership in the scheduled area of responsibility. Actively looks to solve problems and create solutions.
  • Takes a lead role in assuring new hires are actively being trained and developed. Follows up to assure employee progress. Trains staff.
  • Operates as the closing MOD when assigned. Responsible for checking doors/locks prior to leaving the building.
  • Manages the flow and quality of service for each assigned shift.
  • Inspects grooming and attire of staff. Ensures uniforms and personal appearance are clean and professional.
  • Adheres to the club dress code holding all subordinates accountable.
  • Focuses on employee development.
  • Communicates restaurant menus, beer, wine, and spirits.
  • Attends management and staff meetings as scheduled.
  • Reports and documents any maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
  • Supervises bar controls and cost control efforts to ensure financial success.
  • Markets and promotes activities for all food and beverage events.
  • Completes other duties assigned.
