Our Food & Beverage team is looking for BARTENDERS to work in the Boathouse Restaurant. Serving our leisure guests, condo owners, locals and/or working events with corporate clients on beautiful Lake Muskoka is a great way to spend your summer!

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/REQUIREMENTS

  • Indoors and outdoors in the spring/summer and fall weather conditions on covered patio, dining room and conference rooms.
  • Moving furniture when preparing special arrangements.
  • Walking, bending, carrying glassware, plates, glass racks, large platters, and chaffing dishes.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 LBS.
  • Long periods of standing on your feet.
  • Must be willing to work multiple shifts including, morning, afternoon, evenings, weekends and holidays.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Bartending: 2 years (preferred)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills)

  • Previous experience in casual fine dining an asset.
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a bartender
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Ontario Smart Serve certification required.
  • Valid Driver’s License for golf cart operation.
  • Food handling certification an asset but not required.
  • First Aid/CPR certification an asset but not required
Responsibilities
  • To interact professionally with all function guests and co-workers.
  • Maintain high standards of appearance and personal hygiene as set out by the Resort’s Handbook and Code of Conduct.
  • To maintain service standards as set out by departmental Training Manual
  • To complete all work as directed by members of the Food & Beverage management team, and all other duties as assigned.
  • To work calmly and efficiently while promoting positive relations with related departments.
  • To work in both a safe manner and in a safe environment, as set out by company policy and Workplace Health & Safety statutory requirements.
  • To positively promote departmental and resort special events and activities.
  • To carry out any and all duties within the general scope and purpose of the job so designated by the Director of Food & Beverage and Resort policy. To follow all departmental and resort policies as they relate to you.
  • To ask for assistance should you find yourself unable to meet the department’s standards of service due to business volumes.
  • Ensure a thorough accounting of all cash transactions and product behind the bar. You are responsible for all losses or shortages of either product or material transactions.
  • To serve alcohol in a responsible manner, in accordance with Smart Serve training, resort policy and the statutory requirements of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
  • Other duties as and when assigned.
