Responsibilities

Journey Enterprise’s Employability Coaches support a small caseload of adults with intellectual disability. Working with these adults, our Employability Coaches support them in to part-time employment or self-employment. Through skills development, training and work experience placements we want our Clients to achieve real work outcomes. To achieve this our Employability Coaches and Volunteering Manager work across a wealth of external partnerships. Good knowledge of the local area and of relevant employer partnerships is essential.
Whilst based from our Newcastle Hub, your role will involve daily travel in our area of operations. Together with your colleague on the Employability Team, you will be supporting Clients at any of our four Hubs, working in collaboration with our specialist Learning Disability Support Workers and Seniors (Team Leaders), as well as building your networks outside Journey. Access to your own transport, or Access to Work within work travel package if disabled, is therefore essential for this role.
