SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Proven experience in a similar supervisory or foreman role within a fabrication, welding, or engineering workshop.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication techniques, welding processes, and sheet metal work.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Good working knowledge of health & safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

ROLE PURPOSE

The Fabrication Foreman will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the fabrication workshop, ensuring production targets are met, quality standards are maintained, and health & safety compliance is upheld. This role requires strong leadership skills, hands-on technical knowledge, and the ability to coordinate workloads effectively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and supervise fabrication staff, including welders, fabricators, and apprentices.
  • Plan, allocate, and monitor workloads to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Oversee the fabrication process, ensuring accuracy to engineering drawings and quality specifications.
  • Liaise with Management, design team, and other departments to coordinate workflow.
  • Ensure adherence to company health & safety policies and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to team members.
  • Conduct quality checks at key stages of production.
  • Manage materials and consumables to minimise waste and downtime.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in production processes.
  • Complete production reports, job cards, and other relevant documentation.
