Position Summary The Fabrication Lead supports daily fabrication operations by working alongside and providing electrical knowledge and task‑level direction to assemblers to complete work orders safely, accurately, and on schedule. This role is a hands‑on production position that assists with work coordination, quality checks, and communication under the direction of the Production Supervisor. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Follow and reinforce all safety rules, PPE requirements, and company and customer procedures; actively participate in daily huddles and Job Hazard Analyses. Perform hands‑on electrical assembly and fabrication work in accordance with work orders, drawings, and specifications. Provide day‑to‑day task coordination and on‑the‑job guidance to assemblers while performing production work. Conducting inspections, assessments and reporting, including reviewing and providing feedback on drawings and schedules to identify potential issues, risks, process improvements and preventative actions prior to production or field installation Monitor production progress and communicate status, delays, or issues to the Production Supervisor. Assist with material staging, inventory handling, and tool and equipment preparation. Verify completed work meets drawings, specifications, and quality standards; identify and report deficiencies and assist with corrective actions. Performing electrical testing, troubleshooting and component repair/replacements Support training and skill development of assemblers through coaching and demonstration during daily work. Maintain clean, organized, and efficient work areas and support lean and continuous improvement initiatives. Complete required production updates, inspections, logs, and material tracking using company systems. Model company core values and maintain reliable attendance. The minimum requirements listed below are representative of needed knowledge, skill, and/or ability. Electrical trade education with 5+ years of relevant electrical experience and OSHA 10 certification, or equivalent combination of training and experience Active electrical license as required for assigned work; Journeyman license may be required depending on scope Prior fabrication experience preferred Forklift certification or ability to obtain Basic Microsoft Office and company software proficiency Valid driver's license Skills and Abilities Ability to lead tasks while performing hands‑on production work Strong attention to safety, quality, and productivity Clear verbal and written communication skills Ability to follow established procedures, schedules, and supervisory direction Commitment to learning and continuous improvement Working Environment & Physical Demands This position is based at the Iowa fabricating facility and requires daily on‑site presence. Overtime, evenings, or weekends may be required based on production needs. The role involves standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 40 pounds occasionally, repetitive movements, and working in PPE and varying indoor and outdoor conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate effectively.
