Description Summary: Completing and coordinating the day-to-day operational functions of the fabrication department. Responsibilities & Duties: · Program lasers and brakes and ensure that machinery is set up for efficient performance. · Ensure that production schedule is adhered to. · Thoroughly check parts for non-conformances and adjust programs accordingly. · Receives directions from the fabrication manager, leads fabrication team, and provides general instruction and direction to production employees on all shifts in accordance with customer demand. · Laser and brake press troubleshooting. · Order consumables and necessary parts. · Operate machinery as necessary. · Train and orientate employees on all departmental functions including but not limited to safe equipment operations, policies, and procedures. · Partner with Manager of area to review employee’s quality and performance as well as regular review of staffing needs. · Work with other shifts on the remaining work, issues, shift to shift notes, etc. · Meets with programmer/engineers to discuss potential machine problems and optimizing material runs. Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent, one to three years’ relevant experience, or equivalent combination of both.
