Description Job Title: Fabrication Machinist Department: Fabrication/Production Reports To: Fabrication Supervisor Status: Non-Exempt Position Summary: The Fabrication Machinist supports a variety of fabrication processes, with a focus on operating and setting up press brake and other fabrication equipment. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work across multiple areas of fabrication. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-minded, and willing to learn and support production needs. Key Responsibilities: Set up and operate press brake machines to bend and form metal components Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings Perform machine setups, tooling changes, and adjustments to ensure quality Inspect finished parts using measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, gauges) Support other fabrication processes including sawing, machining, drilling, and material handling Assist with material preparation and movement throughout production Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance or safety concerns Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all PPE requirements Perform other duties as assigned, which may include occasional travel Qualifications: Press brake experience preferred; fabrication or machining experience strongly preferred Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail Ability to read a tape measure accurately Willingness to be cross-trained in multiple areas Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Physical Requirements & Work Environment: Ability to stand for extended periods and perform frequent bending, lifting, and movement Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 80+ lbs Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with temperatures that vary seasonally Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, with occasional overtime based on production needs. Pre-Employment Requirements: Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
