FABRICATION EXPERIENCE

  • Estimating for labor and/or material costs, for small shop jobs to large fab. projects
  • Strong welding aptitude, knowledge & experience
  • Proven ability to read and understand weld symbols/processes in blueprints
  • Inspection for various projects
  • Inventory control & Material Processing
  • Preparation and planning for projects awarded
  • Co-ordination with shop fabrication and erection schedule
  • Mechanical aptitude, problem-solving, and creativity
  • Experience leading a custom fabrication shop is an advantage
  • Familiarity with metal fabrication equipment an asset
    This position is an excellent opportunity for someone that has prior experience in a similar position or someone that seeks to utilize their shop experience and knowledge to work in an office role. Candidates from a wide range of sectors—including architectural panels, metal fabrication, construction coordination, or general building materials—are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
  • Overseeing all phases of the project, from shop drawing review to closeout
  • Manage a diverse workforce of shop tradespeople
  • Clear communication and documentation with the project team
  • Estimating/quoting and or Project management experience in a manufacturing organization
  • Good computer skills, including decent typing skills with an aptitude for learning new software programs
  • Intermediate experience with drafting and purchasing is a definite asset
  • Outgoing personality that includes good written and verbal communication to all levels internal & external
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills
  • Time management skills, ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations such as heavy/varying workload and order accuracy.
