Schneider Electric is looking for a seasoned FABRICATION ENGINEER to work with other manufacturing engineers and managers to facilitate the creation of a new manufacturing facility in Apodaca N.L. The Fabrication Engineer will be responsible for: Installing & qualifying the soft tools, the press brakes, the punching equipment, the spotwelding equipment & the powder coat system Coordinating the installation of the fabrication equipment & pant line system, while adhering to safety guidelines Defining the fabrication and paint line value stream maps, Designing the line architecture and shop floor layouts Coordinating the NC programming for the fabrication equipment Defining the takt time (the mfg rate to match customer demand) for the fabrication area Ensuring adequate fabrication capacity and paint system capacity Monitoring the Overall Equipment Effectiveness Leading the continuous improvement efforts for Low Voltage DrawOut Switchgear. Applying Lean/Six Sigma problem solving methods for root cause resolution Developing the capital expenditure proposals for fabrication area Creating detailed plans for every fabrication part (20k fab components) Designing safe/ergonomic fabrication and material handling solutions Supporting new product development projects (cost estimates, layouts, tooling, equip) Qualifications We know skills and competencies show up in many ways and can be based on your life experience. This job might be for you if: Industrial Engineer or related engineering disciplines 3 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering Experience in fabrication, soft tools, press brake, punching, spot welding, powder painting Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methods Knowledge of PFMEA, control plans, and root cause problem solving (8D, 6 sigma, Fishbone) Solid understanding of safety guidelines for manufacturing and especially fabrication Experience creating layouts and synchronized material flow Working knowledge of SAP is a plus Experience in manufacturing of low volume/high mix products Experience in transferring and qualifying products and processes Able to Travel 20-25%25 of the time Advanced English skills Advanced Excel and AutoCAD skills Proactive, self-motivated, problem solver, effective communicator, & strong leadership skills We seek out and reward people for putting the customer first, being disruptive to the status quo, embracing different perspectives, continuously learning, and acting like owners.
