Fabrication Operations Supervisor – Miscellaneous Metals Location: Hanover, PA Job Type: Full-Time Starting Pay: From $35.00 per hour (higher compensation may be available based on experience) Overtime: Additional hours available Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Fabrication Operations Supervisor to oversee daily production within a miscellaneous metals fabrication shop. This leadership role is responsible for directing shop personnel, coordinating workflow, maintaining production schedules, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. The successful candidate will work closely with operations leadership and multiple internal departments to keep fabrication activities on schedule while supporting continuous improvement, employee development, and operational performance. \n Primary Responsibilities Shop Operations Lead the daily activities of the miscellaneous metals fabrication shop. Carry out production schedules established by operations leadership. Organize manpower and workflow to maximize productivity. Monitor fabrication progress and provide regular production updates. Coordinate fitting, welding, assembly, and material movement throughout the facility. Team Leadership Supervise shop employees, including welders, fitters, machine operators, and laborers. Provide coaching, training, and support to help employees develop their skills. Conduct daily production meetings and safety discussions. Assist with staffing needs and effective labor utilization. Promote teamwork, accountability, and clear communication throughout the shop. Safety & Quality Enforce company safety policies and safe work practices. Ensure fabricated products meet quality requirements, fabrication tolerances, and project specifications. Investigate quality concerns and implement corrective actions when needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment. Coordinate with Quality Control personnel during inspections and issue resolution. Equipment & Facility Support Monitor fabrication equipment to ensure it remains safe and operational. Coordinate maintenance and repair needs with management. Oversee material handling, storage practices, and shop consumable inventory. Support shop organization and ongoing process improvement initiatives. Performance Monitoring Track labor hours, productivity, rework, schedule performance, and operational efficiency. Help monitor production throughput and meet delivery expectations. Participate in operational reviews and KPI reporting. Assist with workforce planning and production forecasting. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with internal departments including: Plant Leadership Operations Management Project Management Purchasing Detailing Data Control Quality Control Safety Logistics and Transportation Required Qualifications 5–10 years of experience in miscellaneous metals fabrication. Previous experience leading fabrication teams or serving in a foreman, supervisor, or similar leadership role is preferred. Strong knowledge of miscellaneous metals fabrication processes and shop workflow. Experience coordinating production schedules, labor resources, and day-to-day shop operations. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Solid understanding of fabrication safety requirements and quality standards. \n
